Two little stories about Kingfishers. I worked with a chap years ago that used to trap Kingfishers and use their feathers for making flies
for fly fishermen to use. I wonder what the RSPB would think of that.
When I was working in France I used to sit by the Millpond of an everning and fish. A kingfisher would come on a regular basis and perch
on the rod and then swoop into the water after its prey, and go to its hole in the bank to feed its young.
You would not think that such a beautiful bird could make such a foul place to bring its young up in. The smell coming from
its burrow had to be smelt to be believed.
I do not want thanks for any research I am able to help out with. I just love doing it.
