Tuesday Market Place Parking Closed for Months

Postby MJR » 09 Oct 2013, 16:47

So I read in the newspaper that the Tuesday Market Place parking was open again.

So I rode along to it.

It's a lie. I can't park there.

Half the car park is open, but all the cycle parking has been ripped out to make way for nice empty paving and they're not putting the new cycle parking in until next month. Couldn't they have left ripping out the old parking and repaving outside the TSB until after the new parking was installed? It's not like the old parking was in the way of anything they needed to build.

I sometimes wonder what the project managers are thinking. This is the complete opposite of their stated policy and if I go ask the elected members about it, I expect I'll get the usual denials that anything is wrong. How do you deal with people who say one thing while their organisation doesn't just fail to act - it frequently does the opposite action?

It's all rather irritating. Where's the beer? ;-)

Have to disagree with your comment about "thinking", They don't.
It's nice to be important, but more important to be nice.
