Oh Wow !!!!!!!!!

Oh you lucky mare Tres' I'm assuming THAT beauty is ONLY appearing over YOUR neck of the woods, not ours, eh ?

I'd almost give my right nut, to see & photograph THAT engine, as till now, I've only ever seen the (Bachamann?) OO-Gauge version

Beautiful engine, in a beautiful livery.

In fact, when I read your post, the photo's WERE NOT appearing as pictures, just a link to click - (was that intentional ?)

As a result, I expected to see pictures of Robins or Blue-Tits, etc, not that mighty metallic beast !!!!!!!!

Lovely pix BTW

Having just posted, I went to go have a look for myself, over on the 'net

Found this...

"A popular steam locomotive will pass through the north of the county next month.

The iconic No 46233 Duchess of Sutherland is hauling a train between London and York on October 19, passing through Wellingborough and stopping at Kettering before going on to Corby and over the famous Harringworth viaduct.

The train is expected to take on water at Kettering and leave at about 9.30am before reaching Corby by 9.40am, Gretton by 9.45am and passing over the viaduct by 9.47am. Times are subject to change".

Lucky, lucky you girl.... 8) 8) (too cool)

Cheers for the 'Heads-Up' Tres'

Was at Ely for the whole day, only a few weeks back, shame.

Do you know "if" she'll be passing thru Ely any time soon AFTER the festive season has ended, or, even into early next-spring ?

Thanks E. No one is sure where she will end up. John Cameron , the owner, wants to have her and another engine on his farm in Scotland. He has the planning permission, but apparently there is some problem with the size of sheds to keep them in. U of S A is scheduled to be withdrawn from service in April...... Had hoped to see Duchess of Sutherland on the return trip from York, but they now say it will be diesel hauled :(
