Lynn lines rail upgrade.

Postby supergt1971 » 26 Sep 2019, 11:59

Just reading the latest regarding the above on the LN&A website and how locals that live near the worksite in Lynn raised issues and suggested the area closer to the station be used.In the article it said there would be an investigation in to using the closer area but i feel some of these people may have been misled as the work on the new site is already in progress and due to the amount of money ploughed into this project already i can't see it being changed. Why not be honest from the start?

Yeah in other articles it just mentions how the people round the area are unhappy. Question in some articles it mentions sidings as in more than one but in others it just mentions the one?

One siding only but the site is being dug out to fit two to "futureproof" the area.

Coming back into Lynn station from London yesterday I could see the prep work for the project. Any idea how long the complete thing

I do not want thanks for any research I am able to help out with. I just love doing it.

Target is next autumn EWW,the sidings here don't really have much impact on the day to day railway or passengers, obviously when they install the new points this will so i can see there being at least one weekend of no trains from Lynn.Looking further along, the platform extensions at Watlington and Littleport are quite big projects, the underpass at Littleport will be closed for good to aid this and upcoming projects include totally moving Waterbeach station and a new Cambridge South station.

Thanks for info Super. As we are up to London a couple of times a month it may impact on us a bit. Got to be done though.
