I met this man quite a few times over the years and sat in his cottage chatting to him and his wife. He used to show me his punt guns and tell me about
the good ol days. Sadly he is no longer with us. Give the link a look as it is in my mind a window on the past.

The birds caught in the net was just for filming purposes and not fot eating. Ernie told me the story of a plane crashing on Welney wash during the war.
He said that the ghost of a crew member could be seen on foggy nights trying to find its way off the wash. He told me lots of stories that really put a
smile on your face. I had a copy of the film from ITV for my local history collection but cannot remember who I lent it to.
