Taylors Bedmobiles of Sedgeford.

Postby timmeroo » 28 Mar 2011, 19:31

(Re-Edited)Do you remember Taylors Bedmobiles? They were a range of motor caravan conversions at Docking Rd, Sedgeford between from 1955 - 1965. Most Bedmobiles were based on the Bedford CA van but Taylor also produced Ford, BMC nad Commer versions. Unfortunately, none appear to exist anymore, though they might and still be registered as Bedford (or Ford etc ) Vans.
Did/do you own one? Do you know where one might still be? Any documentation: log books, manuals, holiday snaps or personal memories etcetera? Do tell. Do tell

Just tried - can't find diddley-squat!
- A leaflet was on sale a few months back.
Incidentally, I've re-edited my opener and attached a photo of a Bedmobile Advert. I have no idea if I've done it right - I await to see if it will appear in full!

- and anyone interested in this sort of thing - come to the Sedgeford Fete on 6th August. There will also be the launch of a newly written and published book by Tony Beadle on this very subject (price £6.95)

Sadly Tony Beadle died in early January after suffering a heart attack at Christmas. His funeral was at Ruislip Crem which I attended. His book is indeed still available at Witleys Hunstanton. If anyone has owned or has any knowledge of such a vehicle, whether it still be in existance or not, I would still like to hear from them.
