RAF Air Defence Radar Museum -Neatishead nr Wroxham

This is well worth a visit. The museum is in the actual building that controlled the fighters that intercepted the soviet “Bear” intruders during the cold war and from where the V bombers would have been launched on a 7 minute warning. ( picture)
Go on the guided tour –every half hour- as otherwise you will end up looking at a lot of radar cabinets and bits! Good tour, starting with a briefing (in good old RAF fashion) then history of Radar, use in the Battle of Britain, Ground Controlled Interception, and then the cold war stuff.
Lots to see and a very friendly museum

Went to this museum with my son and had a wonderful time.
Take the tours and then enjoy a walk round meeting all the friendly staff, there are so many characters with stories
about so many of the exhibts you can lose the day, well worth it.
