
This is well worth a visit. The museum is in the actual building that controlled the fighters that intercepted the soviet “Bear” intruders during the cold war and from where the V bombers would have been launched on a 7 minute warning. ( picture)
Go on the guided tour –every half hour- as otherwise you will end up looking at a lot of radar cabinets and bits! Good tour, starting with a briefing (in good old RAF fashion) then history of Radar, use in the Battle of Britain, Ground Controlled Interception, and then the cold war stuff.
Lots to see and a very friendly museum
