ive just had an update on these old vehicles, they ended up being parked in a place called Roydon Common, later being moved to a nearby Farm for many years until scrapped, they are visible on Google earth dated 1999, but are gone by 2006, just thought this may jog a few memories on this subject.....Map cordanates are:-

they can just be seen all lined up behind each other.....

For anyone interested, almost 2years on and the machine is still sat there, quietly rusting.......

Series 1 - 38 RB face shovel is still there. I think the old girl may have had propelling problems. badly worn central swing gear commonly called a wedding cake when I worked on navvies.

All uncovered. I think it has stood there for well over forty years as all old maps show the quarry as disused from the late sixties and early seventies
