Kings Lynn Library has the school logs for ALL SAINTS from at least 1900, and maybe before, but do not know if they have school registers, will check next week.
I do not want thanks for any research I am able to help out with. I just love doing it.

Nice one Eww. Thanks.
Forgive my ignorance but what is the difference between what is contained in a school log from a school register? I've never heard the term school log before.

Cheers

Hi

A school register is a list of names and dates etc but a school log is day to day interesting things, a bit like a school diary.

I have read my local school log and there are several really interesting things in there relating to "lots of children off school gleaning", "children went out of school today to watch the caravans of Edmund's Wild Beast Show pass through the village",
"many children off this week due to diptheria" etc etc etc.

Log books are well worth reading for family and local history but the registers are for family trees, different things!

Don't forget the punishment book too!

Teddy
