Benjamin Pitt and Clara Rose

Ive just received this picture of Benjamin Pitt and Clara Rose who married in 1895 , the photo is supposed to have been on there wedding day , Benjamin was a distant relation but I hope it's of use to some closer relatives .

Their daughter Annie Elizabeth's second marriage was to my Gt. Uncle Redvers H Bunting. I wouldn't have known this if 82 hadn't given me her maiden name.

I cannot read anything about a child getting hurt as I find it too distressing.

Just a thought - If that bomb damage photo is WWI then it's not Annie who married Redvers

It's not bomb damage ,it's when they pulled down the houses where Union Lane is .

I can't remember the exact date .

In 1939c Gordon & Gertie/ Gertrude Cook's address is given as SIVIN INN K/Lynn. I have looked at Norfolk Pubs Past & Present but can't find it .

Could it be a corruption of Swan Inn Desira? The writing was not always that good...... There is a Swan Inn listed at South Wootton, built in 1836.

If you use the name search in the pub site he comes up being at the White Swan West Lynn.
Gordon Ralph Cook is he the one desira. He worked at the West Lynn boatyard while Gertie
and her sister ran the pub.

Swan at wootton, and Swan at Gaywood next to the clock. My cousin was landlady there.

Gordon and Gertie Cook are my great grandparents ,Gertie's parents George and Ann Spratt had the pub before them ,before that they had the Ferry boat Inn .
