Don spent his las few years propping up the bar at the King's Lynn golf club. I did a bit of work at his place
in Pot Row, or whatever the bit of the village is called near the Three Horseshoes. Don used to do a bit of
boxing training and was in the ring with Carlo. Carlo gave him a huge nosebleed and I think that was the
end of his training days. :D
I do not want thanks for any research I am able to help out with. I just love doing it.

Was in Wolferton today and took to opportunity to take this picture. One hundred % true about the humour. He was a goodun.
All the years I knew him, I never knew his middle name was Frank.

Hi,
Sorry it has taken me so long to return to this thread. Does anyone know the name of the hairdresser's run by Julie Napoltana, in Bishop's Terrace? I thought a name had been given in the discussion but I cannot find it!

Best wishes

Paul

Not sure about this but I think it was called "Jeannies" at one time.

I remember having my hair cut at Charles' in the 60s' and 70s' when on holiday with my grandparents in Queen Mary Road. My memory may be playing tricks but I recall that the ladies had to go upstairs-did that arrangement end only when Jeanies opened opposite?

One more question-it's been awhile since I visited Lynn because of the Covid travel restrictions, but if Bowers butchers is still there am I right that he will have been there about 40 years? My grandfather and I loved his haslet, best eaten with salad cream and cut thick-not wafer thin as seems to be the fashion nowadays. His "Museum of Gaywood"-old photos on the left hand wall as you went in-was fascinating. Happy days.
