Hear hear. He was hilarious when he wanted to be, more than a match to all of his "opponents". RIP

Re the statue, there is a statue of Mary in the entrance hall to St Martha's that has been there since the school opened 60 odd years ago. Same one?

Could be Ms Green but I have no intention of going and finding out. They would not let a sinner like me in the door.

Just a little snippet, the vicarage (wherever it was) was valued in 'the Kings book' at £18.6s.8d.

Tresagreen, belated thanks for your help! I plugged in the grid reference and it puts it right next to the church, which makes sense. I asked one of the All Saints church wardens if she could help (before I used your link) and she suggests that it is now a B&B, next to the current Rectory on Goodwins Road. I think she made an appeal on one of the Facebook Kings Lynn groups.

If you look at the pin it is exactly where the gate was into the churchyard. It was at the end of the little avenue of threes leading down to the church.

Hi Zoolandia, the website is Norfolk Heritage Explorer. I think the vicarage question may have come up before, I found this on the All Saints Church link on here. If you type that in the search bar, you will see lots more, including some great old pictures. Hope this helps. T

I should have re-read the whole thread on All Saints Church as Ted cracked the location and it was at the end of Vicarage Ln.

Thanks for your wonderful help. From the above links (and looking at this map - http://www.lynnforums.co.uk/forumfiles/ ... ENCEST.jpg ), it seems that the Vicarage was on Providence Street, in the southerly section that connects Chadwick Street and Vicarage Lane (on the map, the close to where the markers 17.8 and 18.8 are ?). From the link Tresagreen gave, the Vicarage ran east-west so this means that it was on Providence Street.
Or am I barking up the wrong tree?

(Treesagreen, I found the link you provided but I couldn't find the exact page that you took a screengrab from)
