:smt017 ....... Found this in the 1912 Kellys. "Max Brennens Penny Bazaar" at 105 High Street, could there have been a mistake between the n and r at the printers which would make it Brenners ??

Hi Desira 37, I am at the moment doing research on my ancestors in Kings Lynn, and 7 Norfolk Street was owned by my ggg grandfather John Self, probably from the middle to late 1800's, he was a cabinet maker. Any info you have would be greatly appreciated.

The addresses I have posted are from Kelly's 1929 and at that time Plowright & Pratt was No.8 Norfolk St.

Hello, I have just been clearing a family members house in Cambridge who is going into care and have bought home a wooden trunk made by John Self of 7 Norfolk Street, Lynn. My gt gt grandfather was from Heacham, he came to Cambridge to work on the railway, so I think he must have bought the trunk to bring his belongings in. I can't attach a photo for you, sorry

Hello Helen57. Welcome to the forum. Can you attach a photo to an email? If you can you can send it to me via my email address
that can be found left hand side of any of my posts under my initials EWW. I can then post it for you under your name. I know
our member Rocker (Mr Self) would love to see it. Many thanks.

Hello Helen57
I have Self's in my tree. John Robert Self married Lilian Roofe born 1891 but when I haven't found. After he died she married Edward Wm. G. Dawson a widower known as uncle George to me who before he married her lived in a shared house with my Aunt & Uncle in Sir Lewis St.
When he died she married George Leslie Roofe who was born Cambridge.
If I remember correctly she had a grocers shop opposite St. James's Park just round the corner of South Clough Lane and near a fish & chip shop.

I made a mistake with the marriage of John Robert Self and Lilian born 1891. I put her 3rd husbands name Roofe as hers . It should be Hunter.
