Wonderful to see these iconic images. I was lucky enough to sail on the barge " Reminder " this year from Ipswich to Pin Mill. A wonderful weekend, and one I will treasure for many years.

This picture taken of the Will Everard in the Purfleet in 1966 could be the last one taken of her as a working vessel.
She was taken out of service and sold in that year.

Something I will never know is how many times my Dad unloaded it.

This picture of the Purfleet and Artist,Ship and Custom house was taken by a friend of mine. He tried to get three painting methods in his shot.
He tried a couple of times and could not get it right. There was a painter up a ladder on the top of the Custom house painting the woodwork. He
came down and would not go back up again. So the photographer had to leave him out of the shot. The Artist and the two crewmen painting the
bow can be seen. The ship is in the Will Everard berth and was known as an ITY boat. Everards shipping had a fleet of boats with ITY as the last
three of their names. I think this one was the Continuity. Maybe someone will have other ideas.
