While looking round St Faiths today on another mission I came across this. Thaberlands mum and dads stone.
I doubt she will see it though as I am not Fakebook user.

REV.BRINGLOW'S SCRAPBOOK 1948/9

Postby masonbm » 08 Apr 2020, 17:02

I am sure you regulars will have discussed it before, but for anyone else interested in Gaywood Church in 1948/9 I have discovered a fascinating old silent film on the BFI (British Film Institute) website. Commissioned by Rev Dennis Bringlow, much of it shows Gaywood Church. Fascinating for me, as 1948 was the year he married by parents-sadly, not one of the couples shown in the film. https://player.bfi.org.uk/free/film/wat ... 948-online

I remember the Rev Bringlow very well. Although I was only 3 when the film was taken, in later years he was a regular visitor to Gaywood Park Girls School. The photo is the Christmas party 1956. He was a lovely man.

The shout used to go out "Here comes Bringy" when he used to chase us out of his orchard. We use to be off like longdogs. :D

Would love to see a cleaned up version of that film as I am sure I would know some faces on there.

Here is one I do know for sure. My old mate Peter (corky) Moulton sadly no longer with us. His family lived just behind the church.

These last two are of the wrecked ship the SHERATON as I remember it from my childhood.
Cannot see much of it but a good memory no less.
