At the back of the Neptune pub there were two stair cases leading to a small room.It had been used as a snooker room and a store room.During the 70s a folk club was held here. The room was small but there was a bar at each end and a stage in the middle.Paul Wyatt from Thornham led a resident group called Thugerton. Singers like Alex Atterson appeared and I can remember Jasper Carrott before he was famous strumming a guitar for 2 mins and then told jokes the whole night.Great nights.
