King Edward VII Grammar School

A pic of what looks like the whole school. It was taken around 1937, so there are probably lots of dads and grandads in the pic. I haven't got any names yet,,,

Well, I will try again.

Great detailed picture !

My Dad is too young to be on here as he was born in 1933 but he may recognise some of the staff, I will print it off and show him.

Just like my old school pictures, Fakenham Grammar School, one wag ran around the back as the camera panned so he appeared twice!!!

Dad had a look but he wasn't there then. He did recognise two teachers though:
Tubby Grant was the one sat slightly leaning one way, staff, fourth from the left and Freddy Hatton was the one wearing round glasses four from the right (staff). Dad thinks he used to live opposite the football ground.

The Old Lennensians were reformed last year and a big event held this summer. Lots of information can be obtained from the website at http://oldlennensians.org.uk/Home.html

They produced a cd/dvd of old photographs and memorabilia that may be of interest to some of you.

The school also holds copies of past school photos, the Old Lennensian magazine etc. The Headmaster also wrote a book on the school which can be obtained direct from the school

Who's that little old boy? (better get my grammer right as I was a pupil)

Teachers

Postby teddybear1959 » 03 Nov 2006, 22:53

Although my Dad went to the School later than this, he recognises two of the teachers:
The one fourth in from the left (teachers only), with his head to one side on the huh so to speak, is Tubby Grant and the one with little round glasses in front of a boy waering a chain on his blazer, is Freddy Hatton who was Deputy Head. He lived opposite the football ground.

CENTENARY OF THE GRAMMAR (PART ONE)

Postby EWW » 04 Nov 2006, 10:04

I HOPE THAT SOME OF THESE PICS WILL BE NEW AND OF INTEREST
TO YOU "LITTLEOLDBOY" BEING AN OLD BOY OF THE SCHOOL.
THEY ARE NOT IN ANY ORDER AS I DO NOT KNOW IF THE WORTHIES
IN THE PICS ARE COMING OR GOING. I THINK THE REVERSE OF THE
FIRST CARD IS QUITE NICE.

Sheep on the first eleven cricket square! We were not even allowed to walk on it unless we were on "parade" and were having to push the big roller.
