What does CBCFC stand for then? Any offers?


The YMCA, where was that one taken? Looks like a yard to me!!!

Told me that he Built the Football ground..all the Metal Work

THE LAST TWO LOOKS LIKE THEY WERE TAKEN IN THE SAME CHURCHYARD
AS OF WHAT I THINK IS ST JOHNS.
SECOND FROM LAST WHERE AT AN ADVANTAGE TO THE OTHER TEAMS AS
THEY HAD CASPER THE GHOST PLAYING FOR THEM.

C.B.C.F.C I think it stands for Central Baptists Church Football Team.
But as usual, not sure :? But as its St Johns church.

Seems I can be of use at last. It is not CBCFC, but GBCFC.

I have found a copy of the same photo printed on a postcard by W Boughton and Sons, 102 High Street King's Lynn. Hand written on the back is Globe Bowls Club F C and dated 1910. Since the Chilvers family were associated with the Globe Bowls Club, it is possible one of them is in the team.

In same envelope was the team below. Not sure if the same team but it was dated 1912/13

Good stuff LoB. But I wonder why they had their pics taken in the churchyard. I have a few more pics of teams all taken in the same
place. Sadly these are not good enough to post,

My grandfather Arthur Chilvers played for the Golbe Bowls club, his son Michael ( my father) was the footballer. I belive his nick name was "chunky" as in chunky chilvers .... I will see if he has any old pictures ...
