King's Lynn Model Railway Club Exhibition 24 June 2017

King's Lynn Model Railway Club are holding their inaugural Model Railway Exhibition on Saturday 24 June from 10.00a.m to 4.00p.m at Gaywood Community Centre, King's Lynn where there is ample free parking as well as easy access by public transport. Entry to the Exhibition costs £5 for those over 15 years; £2 for those between 5 years and 15 years and free for under 5's

Seventeen layouts representing all the popular scales have accepted invitations to attend including 'Thomas 2' that can be operated by our younger visitors, as well as layouts set in the local area. There will be six traders offering a wide range of products such as books, new and second hand items for the layout as well as tools and electronics for the discerning modeller. Refreshments will also be available throughout the day.

Simon Lemmon, Chairman of KLMRC, said “We are looking forward to staging an exhibition that appeals to a wide audience of model railway enthusiasts as well as the general public of all ages. The Deputy Mayor of the Borough of King's Lynn and West Norfolk, Cllr. Jim Moriarty, will be arriving at 2.30p.m and will be shown around the various exhibits before presenting the layout voted Best in Show by those attending on the day with an award at 3.30p.m. We hope that this will be the first of many annual Model Railway Shows we will hold in King's Lynn and are already planning our 2018 show.”

King's Lynn Model Railway Club meets every Friday night at Upper Floor, Grimston Village Hall, Cliffe-en-Howe Road, Pott Row from 7.00p.m and currently has 30 members modelling in OO, N and 009 gauges. Any one interested in becoming a member is welcome to come along to any Club night. Membership is open to anyone over the age of 14 years, although Junior Members under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
