That Eagle Owl escaped from Mac Tuckers place at Middleton. We used to go
to parties at Mac's and you would not believe the size of that bird when you
are right up close to it. He has even bigger birds of prey that he buys from
abroad though.
I do not want thanks for any research I am able to help out with. I just love doing it.

I see in the paper today that they are still looking for the owner. A man thought to be the owner
was seen trying to get the bird to come to him outside the church at Hillington Sq. Mac never did like too much publicity.

I see in the local rag today that Mac Tucker has finally come forward as the owner
and is offering an award for its capture.

I'm wondering what the 'standard' method of capturing an escaped owl is.
Do they lure it to the ground with food then throw a net over it or is there a more sophisticated method?

Any ideas?

Martin.

I know Mac Tucker has special traps that he uses and he has set one in Nelson street.
he has also been trying to lure it back to the glove with food, this is what he did with
the other escapee. This bird is having none of it though :)

owls can be stubborn (I used to have a pet owl (tawny)who lived to be 21 yrs old). When it is hungry, it will come down for the food - day old dead baby chicks usually did the trick with mine.

The owner of the owl breeds his own chicks to feed his many Raptors. He
also buys in. He has about 200 birds.
